Approved Reimagine Phase Beginning in the 2025-26 School Year
The United States Department of Education approved amendments to the accountability section of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plan on January 8, 2025. The approved Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»ESSA plan can be found on the Approved Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»ESSA Plan page.
At the June 2025 Board of Regents meeting, were approved under permanent action.Ìý
*NEW* 2025-26 School Year Final Determinations Resources
To support school communities in understanding final determinations data and support model identification, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»Education Department (Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³») has released the following resources on the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» School and District Accountability Resources and Data webpage:

2025-26 School Year Determinations Accountability Indicator Cut Points and Statewide Measures of Interim Progress and Long-Term Goals
In alignment with the approved ESSA plan, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» released the accountability indicator level cut points used to make 2025-26 school year accountability support model determinations, as well as the statewide Measures of Interim Progress and Long-Term Goals, which can be used to inform continuous improvement planning. Reimagine Phase Accountability Fact Sheets
Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» has released a series of informational fact sheets about New York State’s accountability systemÌý to provide general overviews of:Ìý
- major components of the Reimagine Phase accountability system;ÌýÌý
- accountability support model identification and exit criteria; andÌýÌý
- accountability indicators.Ìý
